CompMag 2006
Conference on "Computational Magnetism and Spintronics" CompMag 2006
October 2nd - 4th 2006
Forschungszentrum Jülich, German
Spintronics, magnetoelectronics and magnetism are currently among the most active research themes in condensed matter physics. These fields are progressing very fast and continue branching into increasingly wider areas of condensed matter. These include strongly-correlated electron systems as well as the connection to semiconductors in terms of diluted magnetic semiconductors, to organic molecules in terms of molecular magnets, to nanotubes, clusters and wires in the field of nano-spintronics and to ferroelectric materials in terms of multiferroics.
The main objective of the Jülich conference is to bring together leading scientists in Europe, as well as guests from USA and Japan, being active in different fields of magnetism, in particular, in state-of-the-art first principles calculations. We would like to overview and discuss recent results as well as consult about common progresses for the future.
Exchange of ideas, experience sharing and conversations will be strongly encouraged, so we plan several opportunities during the conference program when participants can freely discuss.
The scope of the conference will cover those fields that have been recently gaining increasing importance in magnetism, such as:
- Diluted Magnetic Semiconductors and half-metals
- Spin-dependent Transport
- Spin dynamics, spin excitations
- Electronic Correlations
- Multiferroics
- Molecular Magnetism and Nanomagnetism
News: the deadline for abstract submission has been shifted to July 30th, 2006
