Forschungszentrum Jülich Participating in Virtual Talk Series at EXPO 2020 in Dubai
#IndustryMeetsScience talks on future-oriented topics co-hosted with Covestro
Jülich, 7 October 2021 – Covestro and Forschungszentrum Jülich are participating in EXPO 2020 in Dubai, where they are showcasing a range of exhibits at the German Pavilion exhibition. Alongside the exhibition, which centres on the topics of energy, the future city, and biodiversity, a virtual series of talks entitled #IndustryMeetsScience will highlight and discuss current topics and global challenges such as population growth, climate change, and raw material shortages. The talks are organized by Leverkusen-based materials manufacturer Covestro and the Institute of Bio- and Geosciences – Plant Sciences (IBG-2) at Forschungszentrum Jülich. The first talk in the series, „Biodiversity – World of Plants”, will be presented by Jülich’s Prof. Ulrich Schurr on 15 October. Markus Steilemann, CEO of Covestro, will then follow up with a talk on alternative raw materials on 21 October. During the talks, experts and opinion leaders from science and industry will discuss topics that will concern humanity in the future.
