Tonga Volcano: Researchers Puzzled by Wave Patterns in the Atmosphere

Jülich, 24 January 2022 – The analysis of satellite data from the Tonga volcano eruption using Jülich’s supercomputer JUWELS has revealed unusual patterns of gravity waves that have not been observed in any other volcanic eruption to date.
