The Jülich CECAM Node

In July 2010, Forschungszentrum Jülich has joined the Centre Europeen de Calcul Atomique et Moleculaire, CECAM, as an active node.

Scope

The Jülich CECAM Node is active in the fields of Computational Science, Soft Matter Research and Materials Sciences. It has a strong focus on Computer Simulations, where methods, algorithms and codes are developed and applied on various types of High Performance Parallel Computer Architectures.

Specific Node activities include workshops, tutorials and schools on computational methods as well as parallel computing and programming. The Jülich CECAM Node offers also the possibility for program developers to cooperate and benefit from Simulation Laboratories, via e.g. code testing on massively parallel architectures, support in parallelizing or optimzing codes or parallel performance analysis.

Members

The activities of the Jülich CECAM Node (JCN) are supported and performed by the Institute for Advanced Simulation, especially by these institutes:

Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC)
Quantum Theory of Materials (IAS-1 / PGI-1)
Theoretical Physics of Living Matter (IAS-2 / IBI-5)
Theoretical Nanoelectronics (IAS-3 / PGI-2)
Computational Biomedicine (IAS-5 / INM-9)
Materials Data Science and Informatics (IAS-9)
