MODEX NET

Model comparisons and experiments allow research teams to contrast model approaches in terms of methodology, structures, and data bases in order to better understand the approach chosen in each case and to identify potential for improvement.

The overall objective of the MODEX-NET research project is to compare transmission network models that represent both the national and the European level. On the basis of defined case studies (model experiments), the participating collaborative partners want to find and verify the differences between the models. In doing so, they will compare methodological principles, applied model topologies and used data for the transmission network models.

The researchers will pay special attention to the role of flexibilities on the supply and demand side. Based on the findings, they then derive proposals on how transmission grid models can be further developed to increase their informative value for the energy transition.
